Well as we look back as a ministry on 2008 and what all took place, I can’t help but say WOW! It amazes me on what the Lord has allowed us to accomplish and has done during these past twelve months. To break it down for you let me run through the calendar with you for just a moment.
It was January when Tory and I were praying over the idea of taking a business road trip in order to visit some major ministries across the US in order to gain insight from those who have gone before us.
In February the planning process continued for the road trip and the support process began for this adventure. When March rolled around the funds were received and the road trip began. “Rocketown” in Nashville, “The District” in Detroit and Willow Creek in Chicago were all destinations that were visited during this eight day journey. Much was gained from this trip that has helped with the course of our ministry and will continue to do so.
The month of April brought us some ministry projects as well as the submission of our tax exempt paperwork to our lawyer. May through July was the summer and consisted of much brainstorming and planning. During this time we also participated in the BMW Pro AM golf tournament ticket sales and volunteer program!
August and September were BIG landmarks for O.T.C.! The ministry was approved for its Tax Exempt Status and Jeremy quit his job at the hospital to become a fulltime employee of Off The Coast!
When October rolled in Off The Coast put on a few fundraisers to raise some support. November the launching of “Six:Eleven” – a ministry geared towards young professionals took place. A similar ministry was also birthed in November called “YALL” – (Young Adults Living Life). Both of these ministries were a success and will lead O.T.C. into the New Year as we continue to develop and grow them.
November was also the month where professional architectural drawings were sketched out of what the ministry facility may look like! This is pretty stinking cool! We look forward to showing you these in the beginning of the New Year. More ministries took place this month as well as some fundraisers including our “Turkey Bowl”.
Finally December is the month we reflect on what the Lord has done and where He has brought us. There were many other things that took place during these months. Many meetings, volunteer projects were held and networking opportunities were gained.
We thank all of you for remembering us as individuals in your prayers as well as the ministry as a whole. I can’t wait to see where the Lord takes us in 2009.
Thanks again for your prayers and support as we go into the New Year!
Jeremy ~
