Each weekday, and many weekends, YouthBASE brings together high-risk children, caring staff & volunteers, and intentional programming to overcome crime, poverty, & despair one child at a time. YouthBASE tries to find children who couldn't be successfully behaviorally or academically without its support, and works with them individually and in small groups to build opportunities for educational and social success. Volunteers with YouthBASE help children read, play games, assist with behavior support activities, and serve dinner, but more importantly build relationships and community with children - the foundation of behavioral and academic change.
